Mr. Michel Moureault
Michel was born in Ottawa, September 27th, 1936. He remained in the region and later graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in Law. From 1966-68, Michel studied at the London School of Economics, specializing in Industrial Relations. It was upon his return that Max Stern's influence first became apparent. Unemployed and unsure, Michel agreed to work for Stern in his gallery. This would mark the beginning of a long and loyal relationship. For over 20 years, Michel acted as Stern's assistant at the Dominion Gallery in Montreal. After Stern's death in 1987, respecting the wishes of his friend and employer, Michel took over directorship of this renowned and highly respected gallery.
Michel Moreault has served as an ADAC Board member for over a decade. Now in his 73rd year, Michel continues to work as a private dealer and consultant in Montreal, specializing in historical and contemporary Canadian and international fine art.
