Gallery 78 is excited to host two new innovative and ingenious exhibitions until July 8. In Caryatids, Eric Budovitch demonstrates an organic development of imagery as his work evolves through a number of series including the popular Moving Day Series, whose boxes have now morphed into caryatids. A caryatid is a carved column of a female figure from Ancient Greece that supports buildings. In his work, Eric has reimagined these stone sculptures as everyday women, incorporated into a tall stack of items and boxes, supporting themselves, others and the world around them.
Momentum is the Advanced Studio Practice Program’s graduating exhibition. The pieces from these ambitious artists from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design is exciting and unique. Featured is the work of six silversmiths, a fashion designer, a photographer, painter and ceramic artist. The exhibition continues until July 8.
