Newzones is excited to present ALL-IN, a new solo exhibition by Marie Lannoo.
Lannoo, on her new body of work:
“This was not a year to hold back in the studio. ALL-IN refers to going all-out in painting – risking it all on canvas during the pandemic. It has been a year to focus on the essentials, on what counts in the work – a year to find inspiration in times of chaos and upheaval, to be productive in spite of lockdown and isolation or perhaps because of it.
ALL-IN uses colour to pierce and punctuate. Colour is a portal of heat, a beacon of light and a direct conduit to human emotions. It is a vaccine to inoculate against sensory deprivation.
ALL-IN is a diary of living a year dangerously in the studio”
Lannoo has exhibited extensively both locally and internationally including Hong Kong Arts Centre, Wei Gallery, China, Elaine Jacob Gallery, Detroit, the Lightbox, NYC, Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Yellowknife Art Gallery, McLaren, Barrie, Mendel, Saskatoon, Remai Modern, Saskatoon, Mackenzie Art Gallery, Regina, Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton, Confederation Centre Art Gallery, Charlottetown.
