Appraisals

  • We work with Canadian museums, art galleries, universities, libraries, and other cultural institutions seeking appraisals of Cultural Property donations or gifts in kind.

  • ADAC provides appraisal services to civic art collections, government agencies, Canadian charitable organizations, and other public collections.

  • ADAC does not provide appraisal services for private individuals. However, we are happy to assist by providing recommendations, referrals, or other guidance.

For over 40 years, the quality of ADAC valuations has made us the evaluating body of choice for many of Canada’s top institutions and public collections.

ADAC’s Appraisal Service offers professional, arm’s length appraisals of Canadian Cultural Property and gifts in kind to cultural institutions and public art collections. We coordinate the entire appraisal process for you.

For members of the public who require an appraisal for tax, insurance, and estate purposes, ADAC will be happy to refer you to an expert in the field.

Why Choose ADAC?

ADAC finds the most qualified appraiser(s) for your request and ensures that the fair market value is well-researched, well-substantiated, and compliant with Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). All ADAC appraisals are reviewed by the Appraisal Committee, a group of senior ADAC members who are experts in their fields.

ADAC’s Appraisal Service has the knowledge and resources to assist with large or complex appraisal requests.

ADAC accepts appraisal requests on a rolling basis throughout the year. For most requests, you can expect to receive your Certificate of Appraisal within 6 - 8 weeks of when you approve your quote.

ADAC offers competitive fees for both CRA and CCPERB appraisals. The Appraisal Service can work with your institution's budget while still delivering high-quality results. Please reach out to request a quote.

All appraisal estimates are free of charge.
