Daisuke Takeya's “Waiting for Spring” will present ten new landscape paintings, building on the explorations of his 2025 exhibition “RESIDENTS ⊂ PASSENGERS."

Since 2024, Takeya has been evolving the Kara series, turning the canvases on their sides, with expansive skies now sprawling widthwise as the horizon creeps higher into the compositions. The bold, expressive impasto skies now meet detailed urban scenes and landscapes in the lower third of the canvases. The cityscapes have grown larger in the foreground, still incredibly intricate with Takeya’s masterful rendering of architecture, infrastructure, and nature, depicting even individual train cars, streetlights, and furniture seen through windows in detail.
 

Opening Reception: Saturday, March 28, from 2 to 6 pm
“Waiting for Spring” will be up from March 28 – April 11, 2026.
